f ChatGPT still feels kinda dumb to you... it’s probably not ChatGPT’s fault. Maybe you haven't set it up the right way.
Most users skip the one setup that actually makes it smart. Before you ask it to write posts, analyze data, or plan content… you need to tell ChatGPT who you are and how you work.
Here’s how to do it — the right way:
Step 1: Use Custom Instructions
This is context. It tells ChatGPT:
What you do
Who you serve
How you want it to respond
The more info you give, the more ChatGPT tailors its output to match your workflow. No more vague, surface-level answers. Step 2: Turn On Memory
This is where ChatGPT levels up and gets scary good. Once enabled, it can remember:
Your writing style
Project history
Personal tone
Ongoing goals
Now, instead of repeating instructions, you can just prompt it with:
“Write that follow-up email like the one we did last week.”
And it just does it.
You can view, edit, or delete anything ChatGPT remembers. It’s fully transparent, and you’re in charge. You’re in total control!
Set up your ChatGPT properly and turn it into a real assistant.
