How to Connect a Slack Bot to Make.com

A Quick Step-by-Step Guide

Connecting Slack to Make.com lets you build automated workflows triggered by messages, channel activity, mentions, and more. Whether you're sending updates, creating tasks, or routing information — it all starts with a connection.

Here’s how to connect a Slack bot to Make.com in just a few steps.

Step 1: Open Your Scenario

Head to Make.com and open an existing scenario or create a new one.

Step 2: Add a Slack Module

Click the Slack module inside your scenario. This is where you'll define what the scenario should do — like “Send a Message” or “Watch Channel Messages.”

Step 3: Choose the Task Type

Select the specific task you want Slack to perform. For example:

  • Watch mentions

  • Send a message

  • Get a user’s info

Step 4: Click “Create a Connection”

When prompted, click the Create a Connection button to link Make.com with your Slack workspace.

Step 5: Choose Between User or Bot

You’ll be asked if you want to connect using a Slack user or a bot. Pick the one that fits your setup. Most automations use bots.

Step 6: Grant Access

A Slack login window will appear. Click Allow to grant Make.com permission to access your Slack workspace.

Step 7: Confirm It’s Connected

Go to Slack and check the left-hand sidebar. You should now see Make.com listed under the “Apps” section. That means it’s connected and ready to use.

You're All Set!

You can now use Make.com to build automations using Slack as a trigger or action. Want to auto-send alerts? Create tasks from mentions? Watch channels for keywords? You can do it all now that the integration is live.
